Prana Sprouts 3 is a more healthy, wholesome version of regular Medhu vada. In this recipe i have used 3 sprouted wholesome grains.( Black eye beans, Whole Moth beans , whole moong beans). A wonderful combination of grains and spices and deep fried turned in to delicious Wada.
Ingredients :
1 Cup of Moong beans.
1 cup of Moth beans.
1 cup of black eye beans.
1/2 a cup of rice flour.
1 serrano pepper/ 2tsp black pepper powder.
1 inch piece of ginger.
1 tsp turmeric powder.
1 tsp Asafetida.
1/2 a cup of freshly chopped cilantro.
1/2 of sesame seeds.(white)
pinch of Garam masala.
1/2 tsp baking powder.
Ghee/sunflower oil for frying.
Salt to taste.
Recipe :
Soak all the beans overnight and next day morning drain away the water and put them together in a large wet wash cloth and tie it tight. Place this washcloth in a large pot and cover with a lid and keep this pot in a warm dark place for next 24 hours for sprouting. (I put mine in the oven as will be using the cook top for cooking something and that provides the little heat /warmth needed for the beans to sprout.)
After 24 hours , open the wash cloth and put all the sprouted beans in a food processor with ginger, Serrano pepper/ black pepper powder , baking powder, spices and salt and grind until coarse not fine paste. Now put the batter in a large mixing bowl and add the sesame seeds, rice flour & freshly chopped cilantro and mix well. Put your frying pan filled with ghee/oil on heat. Now take a handful of batter and make like flat burger and by pressing you thumb in the center make hole as shown in the image. (this helps frying the wadas nicely and evenly cooked) and gently drop them in to the pan. Fry until both the sides turn golden brown. Continue the same process for as many wada you will like to make. Delicious , wholesome gorgeous looking Prana Sprouts 3 is ready to be offered to The Supreme Lord Krishna and then nourish the Food For The Soul. Serve it with tomato chutney.
