Fruits For Detox

Fruits For Detox and Energy

Fruits are the best source of vitamin A , B and C. Therefore regular consumption of fresh fruits is important. Ideally it is best to eat the fresh cut fruits. But smoothies are a special delicacy, and they could be consumed with proper alkaline combinations when the combinations of fruits are alkaline healthy and can digest well.

Fruits should be ideally eaten in the first half of the day. Fruits digest faster than cooked food, hence before we eat any cooked food for the day fruits need to be eaten. Then they digest well. Fruits also get absorbed faster and get eliminated faster, therefore some people also consume fruits like prunes and dry raisins which help eliminate constipation.

All this means is that if fruits in general are eaten after lunch they may not digest very well and cause acidity except laxative fruits like prunes.

Do we need to consume fruits every day?

Fruits give us good gut health, detox the body, aid good digestion, cure constipation. Each fruit has some special vitamins A, B and C which the body needs. Fruits generally have either sweet or tart flavor. Those who have Kapha prakriti they should eat more sour fruits like berries, that reduce kapha. Those who have Pitta prakriti they should eat more sweet fruits and increase kapha to balance the pitta. Vata should eat a  balance of kapha and pitta and not take too many dry fuits.  More dryness promotes vata.
